My fall skirt

Last week I started my fall project: a yellow skirt. I had this table cloth laying around with a fantastic print. I used an old favorite skirt as pattern and added extra seam allowance just to be sure. I ended up having to take it all in, but rather safe than sorry!
It's a fairly quick and easy skirt, so I took some extra time to sew in the zipper by hand.
When I was about 30 cm away from being done with the last seam, my under thread ran out and the color I had used before this project made its way into my skirt. I cussed out loud and pulled out the seam ripper. Lesson learned: Never save old thread in another color just to be lazy. Always put new thread on an EMPTY spool!
And when I proceeded to fill up the empty under thread, I noticed this! Complete disaster. However, I made it, and I learned lesson number two: Always have a backup roll of thread.

It was really dark when I finished it, and I wanted to wear it at work today, so here's some photos from our huge bathroom at work!
I'm really happy with how it turned out. The only downside to it all seems to be that the fabric wrinkles very easily. But hey, at least it's a magnificent fall skirt thats comfy and pretty!
