...is 8 hours of opera in a living room

I spent this Saturday afternoon and evening together with 7 other singers in my voice teacher's living room, singing from 3 pm to 11 pm. We sang duets and solos, learned a lot about ourselves and others, and had a fantastic time together. We ate lasagna after a couple of hours, but the music never ended. There was always someone standing by the piano singing at the top of their lungs. So many wonderful voices gathered under one roof, with different strengths and qualities. I learned a lot from the older singers, and it was interesting to see that they learned a lot from what I did too, but in different ways. I love that we were able to be vulnerable and be honest with each other. No mean words, no harsh comments. Just lots of encouragement and singing for the best reason: because we love it so much.
